one of the greatest British guitarists Ritchie Blackmore

I saw Deep Purple at the concert hall in Frankfurt Germany in 74, just after it had been restored after being bombed in WW2. first concert since WW2 and there were a hundred thousand people there, and I was sitting left center stage on the floor 20ft from the stage!. never seen so many pipes and chillums, filled with hash in my life!. BTW I couldn't hear for 3 days afterward!. was the greatest concert in my life.

Ian Paice is the most underrated drummer on the planet. He absolutely KILLS on this track!

This song just scorches! The entire “Burn” release is absolute fire!

Ian Paice was a rock God on drums, his beats just drove the whole thing, nothing works in this song without the drums ✌️ Speed King is similar.

This album introduced two new members of Deep Purple - David Coverdale on lead vocals, and Glenn Hughes on bass and co-lead vocals - they're both singing on the song "Burn". Coverdale later went on to form Whitesnake, and Hughes has had a long career which continues to this day. I read something very interesting about "Burn"'s guitar riff. Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore mentioned in an interview that he came up with the riff while trying to play a George Gershwin song from the 1920s called "Fascinting Rhythm", and sure enough, that single musical phrase is identical to both songs, but that's definitely all they have in common. You have to give Ritchie credit for being honest.

This song is one of those milestones for all drummers, when you're trying to reach another level.

I can not even begin to describe how GREAT this group is! You haven't even scratched surface of their catalog of hits. Almost everybody on earth knows the Smoke on the Water riff. "My Woman from Tokyo" is amazing, but in my opinion "Child in Time" is their greatest achievement! It will blow your mind. The live version in front of a BBC music show audience is the one to watch.

New line up for this album with the addition of David Coverdale on vocals and Glenn Hughes on guitar and back-up vocals. You should check out the song "Mistreated" especially the live video from the California Jam back in the 70's. Coverdale kills this song with his gravely blues voice!!

I'm so excited to see people still interested in the legendary playing of the legendary Jon Lord. I love that organ solo!

The drummer definitely got in his 10, 000 steps on that one😂. That was awesome, and definitely a song you need to watch your speed if you are driving!!

My favorite Deep Purple song, for sure! Amber was so right that Ian Paice's drumming is the match that sets this song on fire! It's like he's paying homage to Mitch Mitchell for his drumming on Jimi Hendrix's song "Fire" :) Fun fact Jay and Amber...Did you know the vocalist on this album is none other than David Coverdale (frontman and leader of Whitesnake)? They also had a secret weapon in bassist/ co-vocalist Glenn Hughes. Not their most famous lineup, but did they ever deliver on this track:) !
