This week was all about testing. Testing our limits with a lactate threshild session and testing our bodies with different types of assessments (3d run analysis, ISO testing and physio). So, we got to find out what our thresholds really are! (for now)

I luv u guys. I did 1600m repeats yesterday first time ever in my training block. My target was 5;:00 per k. Made it first set and the rest was suffer fest. You guys are becoming so relatable. Thanks for all you do.

I love your videos and have learned a lot. But mostly what I thought about in this video-you must be acclimated to the tropics if you're wearing a jacket to run intervals in England summer😂😮

Looking forward to this as I’m also flying over to run Chicago. Your 4 runs per week and 2x S&C also match my routine at the moment. Just starting again this weekend after 3 weeks off with my first ever hamstring injury after pushing the training too hard too early!

With all the zone 2 slow runs, track/speed day is now my favorite day of the week. I have yet to build up to the 1600m repeats so let's see how I feel about it all when that gets added. Those look hard. Finding that pace that allows you to finish the workout is difficult. I started using power zones to help gauge my efforts since my heart rate is not great yet. need a lot more zone 2 running. I also started adding in just a few strides or hills at the end of those slow runs just to make up for only doing one track session a week. Still pretty close to 80/20. Keep up the great work. See you in Chicago...well, the backs of you since you are faster than me. Shoutout to Maurten Gel. Easy on the stomach, that's for sure.

You should definitely try the Maurten caffeine gels. They’re a tad more bitter-tasting than the regulars but they’ve gotten me through several ultras now. They really lift my mood and subdue the fatigue and pain a bit. I’ll take like 1 caffeine gel for every 3 regular ones from around the 25k mark. Works even better when you’ve cold turkeyed caffeine for the 10-14 days prior 😁

Nice video and very interesting to see the range of tests. I'm a running coach in the UK and would love a 10 min chat with you sometime on threshold. I think it'd make a big difference to how you approach this type of session in terms of growing your engine and recovery etc
