We're back with a brand new project. In these next set of videos we will be focusing on the front end of our 1963 Resto Custom VW Beetle. Follow along as we walk you through how to remove the front link pin beam. This is the first step to lowering, narrowing and adding stopping power to our front end.

Just removed mine using this video. The cotter pins in the steering coupler were a royal PITA. Everything else was straight forward. I did leave the control arms, spindles and disc brakes on the beam and lowered solo as a whole unit with floor jack. Thanks for the videos!

Is there a certain way to align the steering box on a new beam? My old beam had a little locating tab welded onto it the new beam does not. I measured the degree of the steering box with my old band perfectly level and then attached the steering box at the same angle to the new beam before installation. Not sure if this is the correct way or not. Any tips?

my question with the 2"narrowed beam and disc brakes, is there going to be rubbing issues?
