I just finished replacing link pin bushings. Aligning along the theme of shade tree tools. I found using a 5" x 1/2" carriage bolt 2- 1/2" nuts a heavy duty angle grinder nut fits the recess perfectly. 1-3/4" wrench, 1-3/8 short 3/4" s socket, and a 12" crescent .and a bench vise, and that's it. No hammers used or harmed in this procedure. The 1/2" bolt was my press.

I installed the 2 1/2” dropped spindles, then took my car to the tyre shop for alignment, after that I drove the car for about 6 months, but wasn’t really happy about the ride, the decreased turning circle, bouncy rear end, harsh ride up front, our roads are shit in Australia, I finally decided to remove them, and fit the original ones back in. Thanks for this informative video, I’m sure it helps lots of people out there.

I wish I saw this video before installing my aftermarket spindles! I couldn't make a full turn to the right because the spindle was was binding up on the carrier. I had to take the beam apart and hit the spindle with an angle grinder. But this being my first time building a beam, figuring out what was wrong took forever. I thought I had a bad steering box, I was checking my pitman arm, my tie rods... took me a month to figure out!

At 4mins45sec, when installing the link pin bushing, shouldn't the hole in the bushing be aligned with the grease fitting ?
