I think this is the best and most authentic version of Superman that we've seen. Other versions of the character would have just walked away, which is heroic, but having him trash the truck makes him a more believable character. This brief scene distinguishes Snyder's Superman from all others in that he can be pushed into acting contrary to his upbringing (Jonathan Kent certainly wouldn't have approved of doing that to the truck).

This scene is incredibly powerful. It truly shows how merciful and humble Superman is. All it takes is just one flick to end this scumbag's life and he chooses to just leave. It's unfortunate that some people just can't grasp how benevolent Superman is as a character.

I’m a child of the Christopher Reeve Supes era but Cavill is something special. Watch his face during 0:58-1:07. He communicates contempt, curiosity, and then disappointment, all without a word. It’s a marvelous performance in a movie that is criminally misunderstood.
