Vlad the Impaler: "We should hang out sometime."

Just imagine the shorts that can be made from Ibn Battuta’s side quests.

Knowing how emotionally sensitive elephants are, I can't imagine the trauma they went through at having to do this. One of the few animals that understands the concept of death.

I remember reading about the capital shift in my history lesson in India and even as a kid I thought that was the dumbest thing I’d seen

Ibn Battuta at times during his travels probably: **Running away from certain death**

We even have a saying in Bangla, "তুঘলকি কাণ্ড" meaning "outlandish matter".

I grew up in Coney Island and one wax museum had a mechanical display of the murder elephant. It was terrifying enough but it was right next to a bus stop and you could hear recorded screams for a half hour in the dark while waiting for your bus.

We have a proverb in Bangla that goes " Tughloki Karbar/তুঘলকি কারবার" which means a drastic and ostentatious event.

I heard that these elephants began to enjoy this and made it slow and painful. Goes to show, the smarter you are, the further you can fall

Monty Python should do an adaptation of Ibn Battuta's travels, where his fortunes change on a dime.

"I'm rich! This place is awesome."

"I need to get out of here..."

Reminds me of when I was writing an essay about Tipu Sultan (a South Indian sultan), and one of the sources said how he tied the bodies of his prisoners to elephants so that when the elephants walked, the prisoners would be ripped apart.

I just heard about this series from one of the Japanese Imperialism videos! Do you think in the future you could possibly cover the South African Border War or Rhodesian Bush War?

Wasn't there one emperor who had his elephants execute people by crushing their limbs one at a time before having them crushing their chest/torso?

In his defense he did defeat the Mongols, repeatedly

That’s some insane brutality, not just using elephants to execute people, even including iron blade and stuff for them.
Edit: That way of execution might sure be close to Vlad in terms of brutality.
I wonder how would PETA react to this.
