We had to read about the failed policies of Mohammad Bin Tughlaq in school, especially his transferring the capital from Delhi, which was actually not a very bad idea as Delhi being nearer to the north western border of India was vulnerable to foreign invasion, however his decision to shift most of the people and not just the administrative offices was a calamitous decision. He was also said to have issued paper currency, however didn’t have any mechanism to stop counterfeiting. He was also one of the sultans relatively tolerant of other religions. All in all a very interesting man.

Actually tughlug's plan to change the capital failed because he forced every person in Delhi to travel to Daulatabad and not just the court.And the copper coins failed because they could be counterfeited very easily and had same value as the silver coins.
