Used Minimalist Gentoo for a Year, Now I Switch...

I was using Gentoo Linux as a daily driver for 4 months. I decided to remove it and switch to other distro. Learn why.

My new Gentoo system use only 193Mb ram out of 16gb in xwindows - bspwm - environment (idle)... But i have been trying to set it up for nearly one week :) ... (zero to hero) ... This is my first time i use Gentoo though. i really loved it already.

Gentoo is a very good distro if you want control over your system. You can get rid of unneeded dependencies and other bloat by setting use flags. You can get rid of the cancer known as systemd and anything that has to deal with Lennart. You can make your computer work the way you want it to work, not the way someone else designed it to work.

А что мешает поставить графический интерфейс? Если так нравится systemd - его тоже можно поставить в Gentoo.
Gentoo - это конструктор, чтобы им пользоваться надо понять философию свободы и минимализма.
Ну и помнить, что в первую очередь это ось для серверов... 🇺🇦

Gento is good only on old pc with pentium II cpu 300MHz becouse work and you still can spend 3 hour to some minimal app to compile. Someone must have super fast cpu and long boring life to do all from source code.

You should probably pair gentoo with a really good CPU.
Even with arch being my goto distro, I have a lot of stuff pulled from the AUR that needs to be compiled, and if I hadn't set up my R815 as a compile box with distcc, it would have been unbearably slow.
