It's not really comparable vehicles. If you're driving 12 hours on a highway, i promise you want that honda. Tacomas are legendary offroad vehicles. The ridgeline is far more practical if you're not overlanding.
I've got the Honda, my truck bed will play my music on the beach, and the trunk can hold about 40lbs of ice and 4 cases of beer. It's even got a drain in it.

Get a used 2nd gen ridgeline and a cheap YJ wrangler with a flat towing hitch on the front. You’ll have way more off-road capability with the YJ and the ridgeline will get you back and forth to work with the same reliability as a Tacoma. The combo costs less than a Tacoma and doesn’t cost more to maintain if you’re not a dummy.

Ridgeline for everyday 100. Yeah it’s an SUV with a truck bed but that’s we will ever need. Don’t plan to off-road or tow anything significant.
