Thank you for posting this, I am 28 weeks pregnant and have been diagnosed with a large upper DVT. Giving myself a lovenox shot twice a day and it is really gnarly but I’ve also gained the ability to walk again. There really isnt that many DVT testimonials on the internet so this is so important

Everyone should move their legs after sitting for a long time. And everything your doing is what you should be doing. My mom has a DVT after a stroke from immobility on her right leg. She’s wheelchair and bed bound, so i’m making it a point to move her leg very often, every hour I go move her legs and calf’s and we exercise

Thank you for sharing. I experienced a dvt in January and currently taking Eliquis. I agree with your assessment of health care professionals. I feel as though not enough info is shared and your basically told to come back if you feel chest pains. The sensations are definitely not in you mind, as I’m experiencing the same thing. Two months in and my anxiety often gets the best of me

I have really enjoyed your two videos regarding your DVT. Be very careful with injuries, flying or driving for long periods. If on a plane get up and walk around or if driving, stop often and park a long way from the restrooms so you have a long walk. I am 76 and so far never have had a DVT. However I fell off a equipment trailer three weeks ago and hit the trailer edge hard causing a large contusion on the back of my leg and thus a large hematoma on the back of the leg. The lower leg is missing a vein due to harvesting it for a heart by-pass so due to that it will take months for the body to absorb it. I take Eliquis twice a day so that made the contusion and hematoma worse but helps prevent blood clots. I am a very active old guy, backpacker, working around and with equipment but the lesson for me is safety first and keep learning more and more about your body vascular system, etc. Your videos stimulates a lot of reading for us all. Carpe diem!

Thanks for all the information on blood clots and what you experienced. I had surgery on my right leg and I developed a 2nd blood clot from that surgery. I am now blood thinners. It really does make you so very grateful for each and every day. I hope you went surfing 🤗, .

Your videos make real sense to me now. I have this pain in both of my legs from thigh to calf shooting up and down . And it started out of nowhere, it's only been two days but I literally cannot sleep. However I put my leg while I lay it feels like a stretch pain. I think I should go visit the doctor and not take a risk.

Compression stockings help to prevent DVTs. Wearing them when you’re on an airplane or in states of long periods of time without moving help to keep the circulation going through your legs. If you’re experiencing that feeling it could just be some edema as well which is kind of holding more water in your legs (due to lack of movement) you may feel it more because you’ve had a previous DVT.

It's not psychological, it's actual if you feel it then something is still there it's just not serious, I have those same feelings and I went two more than seven doctors to finally find out that I had a DVT oh, I'm lucky to still be alive just like you it took me 10 months to find out that I had a DVT, just to take Eliquis the blood thinner. Being on Eliquis for less than a month has shown some significant results but I still have a long way to go. I've learned to realize that the doctors really don't care because they have so many patients and more or less all they care about is chargng your insurance and give you some type of medicine hoping your conditions will get better. So yeah stay on top of your condition because nobody really cares at the end of the day, only those few that are really close to you.

... at least you can walk I'm still limping around slowly but surely getting my Mobility back

Mogul... 👍

Brother. I was diagnosed with a PE the moved from my leg into lung. I haven’t felt worse in my life. The medication I’m on you don’t wanna take. Once you experience a bloodclot your body doesn’t go back to being normal. Every now and then I get the same sensation in my leg. They can get in trouble for running tests that you didn’t need worse yet insurance wont pay. Theres alot that goes into being a doctor. The mind is broken simple as that once you have a brush with some kind of possible death you won’t ever be the same. I experienced pleurisy in my lungs. I been to the ER 4 times, on the 5th I found out the clot is gone but now in my left lung i have atelectasis and a lung scar. This medication have made me feel like I was dying I’m sure I’m allergic to it hence the lung injury. Hopefully the doctor can take me off. Just relax.

Hello man,
I have just finished watching your two videos about the subject. I am sharing very similar experiences with you having had dvt for the past 5 months now. I am still on my blood thinning period and thankfully things are headed the right direction. My question for you is, did you ever find out why that clot formed in the first place? Was there a reason for it or something that you did.... I am asking this as none of the doctors I came to had an answer to this question and just wanted to know your experience.

Did you put on Compression Stockings, feel secession and little pain in left leg veins during the treatment?

Great to have an update from you on this topic. Glad that you did go and get a second opinion, it is not something to mess around with. Think that the steps you are taking when traveling are well worth it. Even as someone who never got a DVT, after both my folks got one I thought about ways to hopefully prevent it. Totally agree you stressing to see a doctor or go to the ER.

Wishing you all the best in 2019!! :) Sounds like some fun plans

How long from your initial diagnosis of DVT, and starting blood thinners, did it take you to start feeling better? I was diagnosed with DVT 2 days ago (behind my knee, I feel it in my calf). I’m 2 days into blood thinners. I’m pretty active, and never had this before.
