How Are Blood Clots Removed

An incision is made in the skin below the clogged blood vessel, then the blood vessel is cut open to remove the clot. A specialized tool is used during a mechanical thrombectomy to either disintegrate the clot or remove it through a catheter-like suction. About 11 or 12 years ago, I drove my then 39 y.o. brother to the energency room because he said he didnt feel well. The doctors told my brother he needed this same procedure immediately or he would most likely die. The risk was the clot might be freed up into bloodstream and kill him during the procedure. With no other family available to consult, he asked me what I thought he should do. I said it depended on how bad he felt because there was a risk either way. If he felt bad enough I told him he should just do it. He chose not to have the procedure because he felt that if he died, he would rather it be when God decides it, not because a medical procedure went wrong. The doctors warned against it. He had me drive him home from the hospital. He happily lived another 9 years before he finally passed away one morning after online gaming with the family. May he Rest In Peace. I guess he made the right decision for him. I miss him, though.
