Should I keep checked "use mac display color profiles in viewers" option after calibrating? In davinci settings.

Thank you!! I have got my Temperature set to 6500K and my Gamma set to 2.2 in the settings on my Eizo monitors themselves, do I need to turn those to off and let DisplayCal take care of those?? Thank you again!

3:15 I don't even have those settings on my DisplayCal3. Observer and black level are all missing. Do you know why?

A tip to simply improve accuracy a bit more is: in the start page after insturment there is MODE.
Click the download link and find your monitor and calorimeter correlation. This is a table measured with a spectrameter and this table gets loaded for even more accurate results.
Good luck trying!

Does the current profile on the computer skew the calibration? For instance, on a mac there is always a setting for color, you can't have nothing. usually srgb the monitor profile. So when it starts measuring, isn't this getting in the way?

Thank you!!! I have a doubt. Is it possible, that the Viewer display the same result in the output?
Is there an important step to follow within Resolve to achieve a calibrated environment in the Viewer? I have an Asus PA249Q and after all this the blacks get crused and saturation gets different.

Hey Aram, Thanks for the video!!! I have the same i1display!! And I kinda calibrate it normally without thinking if I'm calibrating for photography as my main profession or video color grading as second profession!! How can I differentiate between both? Is there a big difference?

Hey man! Greetings from Italy. I have a doubt / perplexity. When the calibration is finished, the screen is not very bright. when I bring the brightness in correspondence of the two arrows (120 cd / m ^ 2).
It's normal? Should I first bring the monitor to factory settings?

I just have a question about monitors I’m struggling deciding which to get from bestbuy(Black Friday sales), can u please help me out. Monitors I’m trying to get are good for editing videos/photography and a little bit of gaming, price range is around $300. My desktop is HP Omen by HP Obelisk desktop - Intel Core i7 16gb NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060- 1TB Hard drive + 256gb SSD, thank you hope you have a good day 🙏🏼

I use a blackmagic mini monitor 4k card to output to a secondary ips monitor for color grading using Davinci Resolve. How would a monitor in those circumstances be calibrated? The blackmagic mini monitor card only outputs picture when in Resolve and I select footage.

Aram can I ask you a Davinci question? What is the difference between the Shadows/ highlights dials at the bottom of the wheels interface tab (the numeral ones) and adjusting these tonalities through the Log tonality control (right under the Log wheels?

it works also on the atomos spyder edition. the calibration tool for atomos monitors and recorders. atomos stopped the support with the ownbranded atomos spyder. but the displaycal software recognize this tool as a spyder 4 :) now with the old atomos software and the displaycal software, I can use my pc, laptop and also the atomos recorders :D :D :D i´m happy

i couldnt understand what should i choose for my color space and gamma settings
Im not professional, just want to make things clear and proper, i usually do photography with sRGB color space, and some video editing, h264 codec
My monitor is an IPS panel with default 2.4 gamma
So should i use 2.2 gamma instead of 2.4 defaults?
My goal is to make my screen look the same gamma as everyone else, so i have proper gamma when i do color grading
I dont do prints whics is 120 cd/m2 recommended so i set with default DisplayCal 200
As you mentioned sRGB default is 2.2 but my screen by default is 2.4 so i wonder everyone usual people have 2.4 gamma and i should use that?

Hi and thanks a lot for your tutorials. Just a couple of questions:

QUESTION 1.
In my TV options there are: Native, Rec.709, SMPTE-C, EBU, Rec.2020, DCI-P3. And I'd like to make 2 different LUTs for Rec.709 and DCI-P3. So, I think I have 2 possibilities:
1. Making 2 calibrations: A) with Davinci set on Rec.709 and TV on NATIVE, and B) with Davinci set on DCI-P3 and TV on NATIVE again;
2. Making 2 calibrations: A) with Davinci set on Rec.709 and TV set on Rec.709 as well, and B) with Davinci set on DCI-P3 and TV set on DCI-P3 as well.
Which possibility is correct?

QUESTION 2.
In my TV’s menu there is HDMI RGB Range and HDMI YCbCr Range both set on Normal, and the other option is FULL. Should I go for FULL (in TV AND DisplayCal)? (I am in doubt because when I see the TV via Davinci, if I set TV YCbCr on Normal range blacks are really black! Instead if I set range on Full blacks are grey. On the other hand, changing RGB range between Normal and Full seems not chainging anything instead.)

QUESTION 3.
TV menu's HDMI EOTF Type and Colorimetry Type are set on AUTO. Should I instead specify Rec. etc. before calibrating or not?

Thanks really a lot.

Thanks man! Any info on monitor calibration, LUT’s and the whole “color chain” from capture to delivery is great info for me. Ive always had difficulty understanding this stuff.

Bro, I have been inspired for a very long time by your colorist works. Latest videos are certainly very helpful. But I really miss your practice. Please return this to your blog.
