The EASY way to Color Calibrate your monitor

How many times have you wondered how do you color calibrate your monitor but you thought it was going to be to hard? DigiRichie shows us how simply and quick it is to get your monitor calibrated in just a few minutes.

We used the X-rite color munki which is a middle of the road monitor calibrator. What is cool about this particular model is the fact that it has an ambient light sensor. This means not only can it calibrate your monitor but it can control the brightness depending on the lighting environment you are in.

I personally have never calibrated any of my monitors. I've had PC monitors going back 15 years and the last few generations of iMacs all without every being calibrated. I have printed hundreds if not thousands of prints that I have been extremely happy with.

Really important tip you guys really forgot to touch on...

Let the monitor warm up before you calibrate. There is a HUGE difference between color accuracy and luminosity on start up vs.1 hour of continuous usage.

I use a Spyder to calibrate my monitor. I calibrate my monitor because I like to print photos. If you don't calibrate then the colors you see on your monitor will not be the same colors printed on the media. There's a lot more when it comes to color management i.e. printer calibration, paper calibration, and paper profiling, etc. But I would start with calibrating your monitor. It will save you a lot of time and money (paper and ink)!

The final result was that I trow out the color munki, it is not for photographers whose customers will view the photos mostly on computer screen. This color munki makes the screen super dark, so when i edit them on my colour calibrated screen, the same photo will look overexposed on other screens!

I wanted to get a calibrater for quite some time but this video didn't help me that much. You should have shown the result.
But should I get a Spyder4Pro or a ColorMunki Display? I had those on my list for some time but I don't know which one to get...

I'm having trouble calibrating my monitor.
I see bright whites and very dark blacks. For example, the interface in YT is bright, but videos that show shadows are extremely dark and I cannot see clearly.
What can I do to have a balanced calibration?

Aw man this is awesome! I have been printing my digital art and color calibration would help! It's like, I want to know what I'm making, its terrible to loose a color or effect on a print. A printing tip is to sharpen, ink can technically soak and spread.

The results will mainly depend upon the monitor and to a certain extent the graphics card. My desktop only shows a very slight difference, my current laptop there is noticeable difference, but my old Dell laptop the difference was significant.

Thing is.. how many tv's and monitors are calibrated like that? SO if i would use this and then give my video for example to someone or upload to youtube and their monitor isnt calibrated.. will it look like crap on their display?
