UPDATE: They changed the "finalizing" section and now you need to download "finalize_helper.firm", open your Luma folder and create a folder called "payloads": Place it there.
Lastly, Download "finalize.romfs" and place it on the root of your sd. Everything else is the same with running the script.

I just finally ordered the 3ds I've wanted for ages (Tomodatchi Life Collector's Edition 3DS LL) It say's it's shipping region free so i just hope whatever they used to break the japan region lock wont mess anything up, the plethora of resources you gave were super helpful and i cannot wait to get started once it's delivered! for those people that are stuck in the "loop load"(mii maker extra data)
do this:
1- let just the Nintendo 3DS original folder on the microSD
2- put the microSD on the 3ds
3- go settings and format

now try again

Awesome Bro, after couple videos of other people doing somewhat the same but with more steps or less, I came across this one, so chose to follow this guide. Awesome bro, you explained it perfectly. I don’t subscribe to channels like that, but I did for u. The video of him actually doing it with the 3ds is what won, nobody else do that.

I think my experience with this has taught me how to be patient. I was having so many problems and was starting to get frustrated. I then took a deep breath and took my time. All the probelms I had just went away. I'm still finallizing everything but it seems to be going well. This video made it so much easier (I follow better watching videos than I do following a written guide) even though I did make it difficult for myself. Great guide that definitely deserves a like.

a few days ago I found out there were a handful of retro stores in my country and theres even one close to me thanks to someone from my school and I was instantly interested and wanted a portable device so I was wondering if I should get a dsi or a 3ds and eventually decided 3ds because I can mod it and download lots of things on it and this is the start to my homebrewing journey :D this tutorial was really easy to follow and very intuitive and I never ever got anything like this to work for me and I was so excited just seeing black screens with white debugging text on my screen especially because I didnt trust myself at first to do it correctly and somehow screw it up but this was super helpful
if I ever need another tutorial, I will definitely have you be my first source
