When you shave body hair it will appear to (but not actually) grow back thicker and darker because the hair now has a blunt end instead of a natural tapered end.

Jeez, it won’t actually PHYSICALLY grow back darker or courser but it will APPEAR like it has because of the blunted end of the hair after shaving.

False. I’ve seen my cousin’s and clients’ hair get thicker after several months of them shaving, even in some areas where they only had peach fuzz. That’s why I believe the many clients who would tell me that shaving (regardless of direction) caused their to grow thicker in areas where they barely even had peach fuzz, all because aestheticians kept shaving the peach fuzz.

One of my friends started wearing only long shirts at around age 27 because her lower-back hair got thicker AND longer after some months of shaving it, all because her aesthetician promised it wouldn’t grow back thicker. I worked at a threading-only salon, and since peach fuzz populates much more densely than any other type of hair, we would simply shave it instead of spending an hour on threading a client’s entire face.

I literally saw women’s hair get thicker over the course of several months. My cousin’s barely-visible hair on her arms, thighs and unfortunately her butt, are what she most regrets shaving.

I’m glad I don’t work at that place anymore because I knew I was telling a general lie.
