I can't really understand the hate. I actually find the idea very interesting. Even if they mess it up, they can always just go back in the timeline. There are countless avatars and therefore stories that can be told alternatively. So I'm positive about things either way.

I'm traveling through the possibilities of this story even before Avatar begins, we have "Princess Mononoke" and "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" which have a plot focused on an Environmental Cataclysm that are associated with spirits linked to nature that need to reestablish the balance.

We currently have 7 nations: Fire Nation(1), Earth Republic(2), United Republic Nation(3), Northern(4) and Southern(5) Water Tribe, Air Nation(6) and Jasmine Island(7) it is possible that spiritual cataclysm will isolate them. Just like Shang Cities and Lionturtles Cities.

I don't doubt that the technology developed is anti-spirits.

Tbh I hope the twins avatar powers are Split between the 2 girls. 1 can bend only bend 2 elements and the other has the other 2 but both of them together are required for the Spiritual powers of the avatar to work

I refuse to pre-review the series. I will wait for it to come out then share my views.

That said I loved the masterpiece that was the original Animated Avatar The Last Airbender. I am in the minority who actually enjoyed The Legend of Korra.

Did not enjoy the live action Avatar series though.

if they go 80s-90s cyberpunk anime with this story, it will be a good thing for the bending lore. i like that they basically just scratched the whole tlok arc by making korra destroy everything so that the next cycle can hopefully improve upon the mess that was tlok. the avatar story needs to go back to its asian roots.

it wouldnt make sense if both are avatars, if one dies what then happens ? one should be the avatar. Also if they are no longer 4 nations doesnt that mean korra failed ? so no past lives now no 4 nations.

This story sounds like a leftist perspective. I hope this is all rumor. Just have an original story featuring exciting adventures with no political morals incorporated into the story.

For example, the story could center around the avatar world no longer needing an avatar to help be the arbiter of conflict.
