I've said many things over the years as a coach. Some of them I stand by, and others I realize were too narrow-minded.

There is no one right way to move. In fact, the only wrong way to move is to not move at all. Many of the cues that coaches dogmatically say over and over again are just a waste of your time. You can safely ignore a lot of it.

Do each of these cues come from a logical place? Yes. But there are not absolutes with training.

Your back can round
Your heels can come up
Your elbows can flare out
Your knees can collapse in
Your knees can go over your toes

It is always about context. Don't be dogmatic.

I'd like to see a longer version of this video explaining why trainers would say these things to begin with and what new science is telling us for reasons to ignore outdated lifting cues.

Heck ya!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Ever since I’ve started thinking outside the box I’ve increased my mobility and had fewer ‘ouch’ moments while training. Let the body flow naturally!
