Right on dude! Here on South Beach it is exactly the same. There are all types of hustles here. I also lived in Vegas for 15 years and I am aware of what goes down there. A few years ago, too my family to the Santa Monica Pier. Had a "monk" approach us and give me and my son braclets. He had a book and asked to write my name and also give a tip. In the book, all the written tip amounts aid at least $20. He looked at me in shock when I gave him $5. Five more than I wanted to give him.

I had a roommate who did club promoting the first 2 years I lived in Vegas, and that was back in early 2000's. Back then he wasn't happy unless he took home $3, 000 a night on Friday or Saturday, and $2, 000 a night on Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday. Even back then he was making $10, 000 to $15, 000 a week. It's such a scam, but young people on their first Vegas trip provides for an endless supply of "suckers" for them to feed off. I doubt to many are making only $1, 000 a night, and if they are they won't last.

I fell for the "I ran out of gas routine." Some lady sent her kid over to ask everyone for gas money. I gave her 5 bucks. Now I feel used.

last time I was there I got scammed out of $10 from the I'm an artist heres my cd for a tip scheme. where I live now I have bought quiet a few cds from street artists for sometimes $3-5 and they have all worked and most of the time the music isn't bad. I felt comfortable when they came up and the music seemed good enough. of course when I got home and took the cd out the back of it was scratched like they just found a blank cd on the ground. that one pissed me off that they don't even put anything on the cd. cds are going obsolete and there cheap. I would have been happier if the cd had random songs on it rather than being a dud.

I just tell them its against my religion to help anyone in need and just keep walking. The scammers are usually not sure what happened. LOL!!!
