What I can't understand is why the London Police allows the Public to get that close to them anyway

It's a motivational video, never let any obstacle stand in your way of your goal 😂😂😂😂

They were screaming 'make way' many times before they got close to the kid. Kids fault

If you actually slow it down, he makes every attempt to not step on him

I think it's the fault of the mother (or guardian) for allowing the boy to step out in front of the guards when everyone seems to know the rigid routine the guards uphold. Why wasn't he held back and told to wait until the guards passed by?

As far as I see it, he tried not to step on the child.
And yes I've been there as a child and got taught to behave and wouldn't have dreamed of running into their path.
Being a mother myself, in places like that, I had my arms around my children when they were little. It is like standing next to a road

If they start stopping for tourists, then everyone will start obstructing them for pictures

Let's get a few things straight the kid and parents are at fault here. This kind of disrespect would not be shown or tolerated in Arlington or the white house if it was one of the centennial. But people seem to think that the Queens guards are a joke or there to entertain but they are active soldiers protecting their commander - in - chief just like those at Arlington or the white house so please shoe respect

Not meaning to appear harsh. But these children are getting more and more unruly as years go by. With parents getting more and more careless as they’re often too busy playing with their phones as opposed to keeping an eye on their kids. That child shouldn’t have been in the path of those guards. They did shout “make way”. What’s next? People blaming drivers for running over a child in the middle of a motorway as the child’s parents weren’t responsible and strict enough with their offspring? 🤷🏼‍♂️
Had I been the child in this video, I may have survived the Queen’s soldiers, to then be beaten into a pulp by my parents. 🤣

The solution? Get the fucking kid out of the way, parent, or other adult seeing it.

Rule one on visiting the Royal Guard, never stand in there path. They are doing there job, strictly trained to NEVER come off there route, no one is getting in there way, no one. The kid should of moved out the way, plain and simple.

watch it at 0.25 speed and at 0:05 you can clearly see that the rest of the family are well out the way of the guards, while the boy is facing them. When the boy drops it takes the mother (assuming it's the mother) 5 steps to get to him. The girl is recording the boy on her phone, so I think maybe he wanted to see if the guards would move out of his way... Lesson learnt I would say!

Right I’m sick of saying this. They are doing their job they told the kid to move. She didn’t instead she stood there staring directly at them. Parents should be doing a better job

It is drilled into every British serviceman, especially the Royal Guard ( regardless of which regiment is on parade) to act and react to any interference in performing their duties, they must always be focused on their charge ( to protect and defend HRH ) they are not there to interact with the public. The best advice I could offer would be to treat the approach of any guardsmen as a freight train, it will not deviate, stop, slowdown or swerve to avoid impact. Stay out of their path or be run down.

The Guard is moving at some speed, but did not "Hit the child" as you suggest. They collided and the Guard did his best to step over him.
You never bumped into someone on the sidewalk ??

These men are serving soldiers, patrolling a royal palace, they are not there to entertain the ignorant and the entitled. It is quite simple, do not get in their way. The parents are responsible for the incident simple as that.

1. The guard said "make way!" before running into the child, and most likely even before the march even started.
2.The royal guards are not entertainment; you shouldn't even be standing *near* them while in march. It is the parent's responsibility to not let their child wander into their way.
3. The punishment for stopping and waiting for some irresponsible parent to get their child out of the way can be severe.
4. As you can see, the royal guard made an effort to not harm the child. It is clear that, though he doesn't want to hurt the child, he can't stop.

Direct correlation between fucking around and finding out

The child stepped out at a moments notice, avoided injuries as the guardsman stepped over the child. The guardsman checked on kid later, all was well. There is an explanation of ceremonial marches at this location, so keep an eye on marching guards, and keep a respectful distance people, it’s that simple.
