For the critics of this presentation, remember this man is preaching, and didn't take the time to site every source. There most certainly are quality sources for everything he said. Ive taught this material for years. He is correct.

Please do not accept everything the speaker says is fact. Research for yourself to determine the truth. In my opinion there were misrepresentations and oversimplifications, but I don’t want to create an argument. In the same manner that you should read the Bible for yourself, do historical research to verify the speaker’s assertions.

Firstly, I would like to ask the minister where he is getting his information from?
Because it sounds alot like whats in JM Carroll's book The Trail of Blood", that you can buy in paperback with chart for $5. Which formally had 2 prior titles...Following the Christians through the Centuries.... & The History if Baptist Chuches From the Time of Christ, their founder, to the present Day ( which is very wordy I admit& nit as catchy to remember) but does contain some misinformation here and there. But after listening to the discussion these are the corrective comments as I observed. And wish to state I am fimilar with both Catholic & Baptist positions & have no theological axe to weld for either side.
@31:36 the Septuigent was not translated by origen. It already was in existence & was used by many jews by the time of Jesus' arrival. The Septuigent was Commissioned by Ptolemy II of egypt because the Jewish people has lost their mither tongue of Hebrew & couldnt read or speak hebrew anymore. They spoke greek & Aramaic. Ptolemy II commissioned 70 ( some source say 72) scribes frim the school if Ezra in Jeruselem to translate the Hebrew into Greek. And called it the Septuigent or LXX due to the 70 scribes that translated it....sept meaning 70.
And I wouldnt trust the AV/KJV either if you knew your history about king james & the history of the church of England. and things he was involved in and believed. He believed in the divine right of Kings- in essence whatever he said, was it. - God's word. And omitted parts he didnt like. As well, mistranslations of certain words & phrases.. Like calling the HS a " it" or " itself"...instead of the niuns himself or He.AV was considered a corrupted text. Which is why puritans & other seperatists groups, studied and stuck with the Genevian bible.
@36:35 "Ana" didnt mean "Re"..in the sense we use it today. The prefix "Re" before a noun in late latin didnt become to mean " again" or " to do over" until late in the 17th centuryAD...after the AV was translated. The latin prefix "Ana" means " against" " up"...in that sense of raising up...going backwards..against.
.it didnt mean Re as in "to do over" ..for example anabasis, anacardiaceous...the catholuc church used the term Ana baptist to mean someone or a group was against them & going backwards from what they thought was correct doctrines..their traditions...ect. And was misunderstood by those called anabaptists since they didnt know or understand latin term to be about baptism. When it was much moe about their doctrines as a whole.
* there is plenty of proof that Anabaptisted existed in differant groups long before the Catholic church & protestant or reformation.
* It must also be realized when speaking of the reformation. That there were actually many reformations before & The reformation by Luther..they were small. But the point being there was actually many reformations, not just one that spear headed everything .
* the latin word vulgate means vulgar...but vulgar meant common...i.e common language...the language of the common people.

There's also the anabaptists from old Europe several hundred years ago.

Origen absolutely did not produce the Septuagint, and was indeed eventually declared a heretic.

The montanists believed in prophetic revelations beyond scripture, ordained women, and some of them were not even trinitarian. These people were “baptists?”

You lost my interest when you stated, as a fact, that the Bible was completed in 90AD. The internal and external evidence does not support that assumption. It favors a pre-70AD date. It goes down hill from there...No, Baptists don't trace their line all the way back to the Apostles. If it wasn't for the reformation, you'd probably still be high church.

I begin by confessing I am a Bible believing Southern Baptist. If you are looking for an accurate History, Theology, or faith and practice of the Baptists, this is NOT it. The only fully accurate statement made in this video is at time stamp 1:07:05 it being the followers of Wycliffe were called Lollards. Just because you want to have an unbroken historical line back to the New Testament Church doesn’t make it so. His line of doctrinal teaching is Landmarkism . The only Unbroken lines in Church History follow the Western Catholic Churches and the Orthodox Churches. Historically the Baptist movement -both particular and general -were dissenters from the Church of England. Arguments can be made as to whether Baptists were puritans, separatists, or nonconformists. But not the first authentic expression of Christianity. The presentation might as well say Baptist teaching predates Christianity and we are actually Mandaeans

Had Martin Luther or John Calvin or joshep Smyth were right Jesus would have been wrong in saying to Peter "upon this rock l will build my church and no gates of hell will prevail against it".

only an unsaved person believes this ridiculous theory that the Catholic church was the same one as the primitive church...a born again believer is able to read and understand the bible, we see that it is fundamentally at odds with Catholic doctrine in nearly every point

This man has no authority and is utterly wrong on basic history. Anti Christus. The irony is that he is a "Baptist" but utterly rejects authority of Jesus Christ and the Apostles. He is practically a gnostic in some regard.

Believing never go anyone to heaven. Only the confession of Jesus as Lord and commitment to his will saves.

Where's baptist religion in the bible or any other religion? The is not a good message in my opinion. To be holy is what the bible says so go back to bible. Where do you find these religions in the bible?

Jesus said he will build his Church, and it wasn't called baptist. And no remission of sin, no salvation Acts 2:38.

Thank you for this review of Church history. It encourages me to explore many points in greater depth and gives important food for thought (With all respect, it is MonTanists, not Monatists; NovatIAns, not Novatons; PaulicIAns, not Paulicans.)

yea you believe in the authority and inerrancy of the Bible but you don't know what the law of liberty is do you. a person cannot be saved apart from the law of liberty. its easy. tell us what it is.
