That is very good advice you gave there. If someone is really self-absorbed, I don't believe there's too much you can really say to them to change their mind unless it benefits them.

I ignore and smile. For some reason that makes them come unglued.

Sometimes self care overlaps another dynamic. Only when absolutely necessary does one make a no contact decision. No one electively chooses this. It can be considered revenge but it doesn't matter how the narc perceives this or even if they do. It's out of the realm of concern. They chose this disconnection. If anyone ever gave this disorder a second chance, you know the results. The same. Quicker and harder for being compassionate. What they are attracted to quickly reminds them of their affliction without saying a word or doing literally anything antagonistic. So if it feels like a revenge it's a byproduct of self care. They don't care anymore now than then about what you think, care about or ever loved.

There is no such a thing like revenge on narc. First - revenge itself is typical narc bahaviour based on ego. The besf possibly thing we can do is just improve ourselfs and our life. And we dont need revenge to do that
