In order to exhaust heat / hot air to the outside, the one hose unit must draw air from the inside of the room; and in doing so, additional air is drawn in from outside of the room. Unlike a central AC or window unit that draws air from outside to cool the condensing coils, these units are entirely inside the dwelling. Still they work pretty well. I have one and have used it in my bedroom when my central unit has gone on strike.

What a great teacher! You explain things so well, thanks for this video. Trying to decide between this or a window unit for my bonus room, it gets hot when the temps get into the upper 90's-100's. My AC unit just can't keep it above 75 when the temps get so high. The new U shaped window units are nice, just trying to decide...
