The Dambusters’ Great Escape

Seventy years after the Allies finally sank the battleship Tirpitz after 24 attempts, two former combatants from opposing sides relive one of the most daring wartime operations ever undertaken for perhaps the final time. On November 12th 1944 on a crystal clear winter’s day two veterans of the aerial conflict of World War Two seemed destined to meet in a deadly one-sided combat above the Arctic skies of Northern Norway- this is their story.
