Keepin' it real with my introduction to REAL Analysis! I talk about sets, set notation, and set operations. The next video will introduce functions, one of the fundamental concepts in Analysis.

Pre-reqs: Knowledge of Calculus I and II is helpful (especially for later videos) but not necessary for this one. I feel like even an 8th grader could understand this lesson, so there are hardly any major pre-requisites.

EDIT: At 6:50, I mention that the empty set is denoted by phi: the symbol for the empty set is actually based on a Norwegian letter, not 'phi'.

This might sound on the surface a bit crazy, but I mean it sincerely at face value. My background is about 24 yrs of teaching at the community college level. You do speak very clearly and not too fast, as you do a good job at maintaining this consistently as the material progresses. But I always though it really cool when the professor was able to throw in minor joke....or in the words of famed number theorist Paul Erdos.., half a joke....not told in any style, Utah done in whichever way comes naturally to a given instructor...can’t hurt to try things and incorporate whatever works.

Minor correction "The empty set is denoted by the greek letter phi" It's not. It's a zero with a diagonal strikethrough or an O with a diagonal strikethrough. It's inspired by the Norwegian letter Ø, rather than phi.

Hey and thank you for the great content that you have been providing. In the future, can you make videos on
- Fourier Transforms and other not-well known integral transforms. (I only know Laplace and Mellin transforms). Maybe when you get to circuits/waves/signals of your Physics series, you can implement them.
