Steam added a new gyro mode called "Gyro to Mouse", it's a much-improved gyro mode that will replace the old gyro "As Mouse" mode, but how do you use it?

Q: Can gyro be used on consoles?
A: Yes, but it's only available on a limited list of games. If you want it for your favorite game, ask the developers about it.

Q: Can I use your configs on non-steam games?
A: Yes! Just change the name of the non-steam game to the steam ID of that game (that you can easily find on SteamDB), and you'll have access to all community configs. If the steam overlay doesn't work, try using a program called GLOSSI.

Q: Can gyro emulate the right analog stick?
A: It can, but it's not ideal. My configurations all emulate a mouse, unless stated otherwise.

Q: What is the name of the 3D Controller Overlay?
A: It's called 3D Controller Overlay (created by: @larfingshnew6965) It's free!

Q: When I press the “home” button in-game, nothing happens. (PC only)
A: make sure that the drivers of your controller are active by going to: Steam, Settings, Controller, enable Steam Input for the controller that you are using.
Also, activate “Use Big Picture Overlay when using a controller” by going to Steam, Settings, In-Game.

I love that you're using the new mode in desktop!
When tuning it, I was also clicking around my windows UI. It's what convinced me that the speed deadzone would be helpful - I find it pretty easy to click on even small UI objects now, especially with the precision zone. I showed it to a colleague who was playing a Dicey Dungeons, and he was immediately just "getting it". Feels like a laser pointer.

I just started using the mouse-sensitivity website to check my calibrations, and now those same calibrations carry over to gyro so now the aim sensitivity should be the same between all games :D

another great new aiming tech on steam deck is, trackpad for left and right mouse aiming only, and gyro for vertical only.

I was enjoying the overhaul on my Steam deck before it suddenly stopped receiving any type of charge, forcing me to send it in for repairs. Anyways my favorite feature of this is the Vertical/Horizontal mix setting as a 1:1 sensitivity feels better to me than a ratio that’s intended for a 16:9 or 16:10 screen.

I'm using a Backbone and iphone to access Steam link... and I know the gyro does work in Prey. But can't get the gyro to work in any other game. The Gyro configuration option is missing from the Gamepad options. I have opted into the Steam Beta program... and it's still not there. Has it moved somewhere? Is there something I have to do to activate the gyro as a generally usable control method from my backbone? Any clues will be appreciated.

Will this improve trackpad + gyro aim on the deck? Outside of boomerang X i just dont like flickstick. I prefer the smooth look the trackpads give over the snapping of flickstick.
