In this shocking development, Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church is facing legal action from former members who allege misuse of tithes and offerings. This isn’t the first time Morris has been under scrutiny for his teachings on tithing, but the latest accusations have sparked new controversy. Former congregants are claiming that funds were not used as promised and are now seeking justice through the courts.

Morris, a well-known figure in evangelical circles, has long been an advocate of tithing, teaching that giving 10% of one’s income is not just a practice but a requirement for Christians to receive God’s blessings. However, critics have raised concerns about how the church is handling these funds. The lawsuit alleges that donations were funneled toward projects and personal interests that were never disclosed to members.

This video dives deep into the allegations, providing detailed information about the lawsuit, testimonies from former members, and a look at Morris's past controversies surrounding money and the church. We’ll also examine how Gateway Church has responded to these allegations and what this means for the future of its leadership.

Could this be a turning point in how churches approach the sensitive subject of tithing, or will Morris once again weather the storm of controversy?

Robert Morris left with over 100 million dollars in church money. He needs to be held accountable. God have mercy on this man. He has criminalized himself before God and man. He has done great damage to the body of Christ.

Nauseating. We attended a Church here in Wilmington for a couple of years. The pastor loved this guy. Would play his sermons on tithing every January to make sure everyone was being a good and obedient Christian. We had to leave. Seeing the pattern of patting themselves on the back every opportunity and talking about money more than the Gospel. Watered down teaching and a pathetic invitation to be saved " while every eye is closed and every head is bowed." The Body of Christ is in a shambles. "Not everyone that says Lord Lord will enter into My Kingdom". Scary stuff. Good take on this horrible issue.

I once attended a church where all the bills were posted in the vestibule along with where offerings went! I will gladly give to a ministry like this!

I remember seeing his book The Blessed Life on the table in the break room at work. It felt great throwing it in the trash.

A "money back guarantee" from a church??? Seriously? I cannot imagine anyone listening to that speech thinking it is a "sermon" over a "sales pitch". And how long has he been selling Christianity subtly that he would be emboldened enough to actually say it outright?
"Money back guarantee"... That's an outright sale of salvation.

I tithed for years because I grew up being taught that tithing supports the church according to the bible. I gave thousands of dollars in tithing over the years, close to six figures in total.

I stopped tithing about 5 years ago. I give, but I no longer tithe. I stopped tithing when I realized I was giving and had very little savings for me and my family.

I'm so glad I no longer go to Gateway Church as of 2021.

At my church we don't take up an offering. We have a
Box at the back of the church so you can give or not

yup spot on bro. thanks for covering this church. When I got saved this was the first church I attended and it did not sit right with me over the years and I eventually left in 2018.

Making the church look bad amongst people that already criticize the body. It’s really detrimental. But I believe God is still on the throne and using us smaller folk to do his will correctly. Much love KDub

Im of the belief that once I give a gift, regardless of the nature of it, it’s gone. I give from my heart. What someone does with the it after that will be on them. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I do tithe. I also give to some ministries and to the poor, but none of my money would go to a church like Gateway. 🇨🇦

It’s no wonder people are not going to church like they used to

My old church would do the same money back guarantee. I also have been told by another church member that if I don't tithe that I'm bringing a curse upon myself. Glad to be away from that and in a biblically sound church now.

Ha! He sounds arrogant with his own words… he wants to judge you about your giving. maybe to cover his own dirty laundry.. 🤷🏻‍♀️ interesting his story and Mike Bickel story sound so familiar and they both went on to make millions, not our goal as children of God.

This is what happens when people don't know the word for themsleves. Also every chirch shoukd know where every penny is spent!!! If the church can't explain it the spending, and show the documents. Stop giving to that church.

I have a challenge for Gateway church: define “executive global pastor” Biblically, please. 😏
