How to Run C# in VSCode (Compile, Debug, and Create a Project)

I have been developing windows products going all the way back to Visual Studio 97 (Visual InterDev) and for the life of me I cannot wrap my mind around how Microsoft managed to screw up VS so badly. So they released an IDE platform that doesn't even know how to compile their own language (C#) without forcing the developer to search the internet for a series of obtuse magic numbers and commands???? I remember when developers, and developer productivity was Microsoft's foremost focus. What a difference a generation makes I guess.

Good thing I'll be retiring soon!
