I have been watching your videos for almost 3 years now. I'm happy to report that not only I understand most things being talked about in the videos, I also know them thanks to you Dave. Thank you for your service to the community.

Dave, I loved the video editing where the link and preview to the other videos were on the screen of the scope.  Little details like that are what makes your channel top notch.

To make it easier to notice that the switch on the probe is one way or the other simply use a marker and place a dot on one side of that recess where switch is. That way if the switch is moved one way it will cover up that dot, while when it is the other way that dot will be visible.

The editing quality of this video jumped out at me, it was very pleasant to watch. Reminiscent of one of those old school-room videos about scopes.

Nice touch with the video editing, showing the older videos "playing" on the oscilloscope screen!

Just got mine today! Already falling in love with it. Considering I was coming from a donated Analog Hung Chang 20Mhz Scope thats considerably older than me, it's a breath of fresh air.

On the MDO3000, the compensation data is unique per channel and probe combination. If you move a probe from channel 1 over to channel 2 for the first time it's not going to be compensated. You need to perform the autocompensation once for every channel/probe combination.

That bugger caught me out when I bought my DS1054Z because, it  defaults to 10x which is weird, but even after setting it to 1x, it always changed back to 10x and caught me out again, because again, by default, the scope is set to restore factory defaults every time you power on the scope, so you probably want to change that option as well

Nice video. The number of times I have been fault finding and checking voltages only to find I have X10 selected.

Dave please design a differential probe or suggest a open source one for low frequncy usage, they so dam expensive.

Good video!

No annotations but its in the video details. Great vid.

Setting a probe to x10 means that you have to multiply by 10 the readout because the probe attenuates the measured signal by 20dB before feeding it to the scope.

I have a 4 million year old cossor scope, no fancy settings, just remember the 10 million ohm probe is on :-)

what is my problem, I measure a signal with 21 volts, but when I want to take a closer look, the message Parameter limited comes up. 20 volts is the end and the signal is not visible. Vertical parameters limited. what am I doing wrong? Signal is only visible in Auto mode and at 5V per division. Can someone help me?

At the end of the clip it looks like audio from the mic or it's radio on the scope.
