The only reason i know of for people going to Daily motion is to watch TV shows that they may have missed, as there content ID system is slow to flag things.

But it's generally not good for the consumer that one service has monopoly upon video on demand. It's just that because everything is on YouTube, people don't need another place top check daily.

It's people voting with their feet against their own interests.

Interesting video, thanks. I really wish the competition for YouTube was stronger - YouTube have pissed off their users a lot in recent years but haven't really suffered any consequences for it. People have grumbled but very few have migrated away. And who can blame them... even the small channels that aren't interested in monetisation want their videos to get as many views as possible.

On the other hand, creating competition for youtube would be hugely valuable for content creators in general. The question is, as always, cost/benefit, but you need to look at all the benefits.

I find the name "daily motion" quite amusing, as the only motion I do daily is of the toilet kind, and I really don't want to watch others doing their own daily motions.... :P
