Small correction for anyone trying to use the Eufy lights with WLED: In LED preferences they need to be color order BRG with W and G swapped, I said W and B in the video.

Great video on permanent exterior lighting. I can't believe that you went to the trouble of buying all of the different types of lights, and actually hanging them on your own house. The side by side comparisons of all of the different lights puts your videos and your channel at the next level. Thanks again for all that you do.

You are a WILD MAN!!! Installing all those lights at the same time?!?!??? Wow. I'm super impressed. Super great review! A++++

I can't imagine the money and especially the time you put into these videos. Hanging and re-hanging light strips on a two-story house has to be mind-numbing work! Excellent video, I hope it pays off many times over.

Went with the Govee Pros and have zero regrets. They're beautiful!

This could not be more timely for me. I'm just not really ready/able to spend the time doing all the wiring/dealing with the power supply & electronics stuff which comes with doing a custom setup with RGBIW strips or whatever. Have recently been close to pulling the trigger on a Govee set so this is much appreciated!

thanks for another awesome video. Just cut the cables and installed my Eufy on my Dig-quad. In case anyone else is trying to use WLED with the Eufy lights, I had to swap W & G to make it work rather than W & B. It was otherwise exactly as outlined. Great tutorial!

Your review blows out of the water every single other review about permanent LED lights I have seen and | have watched a lot. A thousand thanks!

What a great video. This is exactly what I needed to see. Just today, I got a quote for $10k to have lights installed! The lights looked identical to the YPS puck tracks. I think I'll be doing a DIY install and saving myself some serious $.

Dude! This is an awesome tutorial. Thank you for putting the time to make it happen. I went with the Govee non-pro version, and I'm glad I did. The app is fantastic, and I love that I can run them on WLED. It would be great if you could show us how to integrate some of the most compatible light kits into an X-lights Christmas show. Thanks again, bro.

For the wired types like Govee, I used a 8" long 2x4 scrap to space them off the wall of the house. Made things simple, Also note that around my windows they were further recessed than the bulk of the house. So the length of the 2x4 accounted for it and I just rotated it for those situations to keep uniformity.

2024 - this channel rocks, not ready yet to buy, but will come back here… maybe one of the prime days I’ll make the purchase… leaning to give, but that eufy one looks interesting

Thank you for the great info!

You can make the Eufy lights warm white when making a color combination. Just click on it white (it’ll become pure white) then un click it and it becomes warm white. Worked for me.

I just did some Ray Wu RGBW TM1814's and their aluminum track, they look awesome (similar to the YPS but way brighter) and the warm white is excellent. No bleed through from the blue like you get with some LEDs. Pricey though. 30M of track, 14 strings (280 pixels) and meanwell power supply for about $650CAD to my door.

Thanks a ton for this video! I've been seeing a lot of Govee reviews lately, and I was considering them... but after your review, I'm leaning toward YPS. It just seems like a lot easier to get a "clean" install with those, and I'd really not have to climb up on a ladder in the dark to try adjusting individual bulbs. That, along with the higher density allowing for more flexibility, I'm really leaning that direction. Only downside is the Govee would be ready to go for the wife to start playing with, but YPS is gonna put a lot on my plate to get to the same place ;)

Excellent comparison video. I bought the GoVee permanent outdoor lights, non-pro version back in July and just got them installed over the last few weeks. I’m very happy with the way it looks. I had made a cardboard template to keep the light nodes 3 inches from the wall for installation without having to keep pulling out a tape measure or ruler. So that was a useful thing. If I were to do it again, I would probably bring the lights 4 inches out from the wall. I don’t see any advantage to the Govee pro other than the warm white lights and it’s not really something I would be using very often. Plus, I’d rather have the brightness and more lights than the Govee Pro array gives. I have thought about running a separate string, just for warm white, if such a thing exists, but I would only be using that for security, or perhaps non-holiday accent lighting, but I don’t know. It’s still not worth it to me to get the Govee pro at this time.

I took my time spacing the light nodes over the center of large windows, and other features of the house, so that worked out fairly well, and I think the wired system as opposed to a track system provides more flexibility for this. The wires are not really visible at all from the front of my house unless you get right underneath the eaves. So that doesn’t concern me very much. I definitely recommend buying more clips though that’s essential I think.

Great review! I think Eufy's future doesn't look very promising if they continue with their fully closed ecosystem. Personally, after 5 years, I'm getting rid of their cameras and sensors. I got tired of waiting for a good integration with smart hubs.
