Once you've created a Threads account, the only way to delete is to also delete your Instagram account.
Some serious concerns regarding privacy have already been brought up.

If Threads has to be used within Instagram it’s not an app but a feature. I think it’s intended to keep people on Instagram which is not what I want for myself. I would like to hear more of a critique not just complete acceptance of the feature.

I am using it and I like it but, I don't like the fact that if you want to get rid of Threads you have to get rid of Instagram and completely start all over again with a new account Instagram. Very nice and detailed video.

You can't delete your threads account without deleting your Instagram account meaning easy to join threads but hard to leave that's why I'm staying with twitter

I hate Instagram so won't be using Threads.

Forcing the use of Instagram is crazy. And not being able to delete a Thread account without first deleting the associated Instagram account - well that is ridiculous. Meta's just trying to lock me into their dodgy ecosystem.

It's not a problem for me - I won't be using either.

🔴PLEASE NOTICE🔴
I downloaded this app few days ago and since that my DM on instagram isn't working. All my chats are disappeared. I can send a message to someone, but when someone wants to send me a message I can't get it. Meanwhile my other accounts don't have any problem with it.
I don't know is it a coincidence or not, but it's already 3-4 days that my direct isn't working. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, please tell me😭
P.s. I tried many things to fix this problem ( I rebooted my phone, deleted and installed instagram, logged out and then logged in my account, I even wrote a report to instagram) but nothing has changed.
