I'm 15 and I get all these amazing ideas and plots and stuff then when I write I have no idea how to write like how to start and end. Plus the idea goes away and then I lose interest which leaves the story as a draft and then I'll start a new one and the cycle continues.

My tip would be: don't sit on your 'best idea' until you think you're skilled enough to write it. If it's your best idea it is what you are passionate about, so it has the best chance of enticing you over to the laptop to write. And of course (pro tip here), when you finish it you can always fix it later as your skill grows OR, and this is a big one, when you finish there will be room in your head for a new, even better (!) idea to pop in!

So hard to find a writing channel that I really like. So glad that I found you <3

I actually finished my first 'book' when I was 12 or something. I was really obsessed with it and finished it within 7 months. It was 130 pages long.
After that I started working on a part 2, but I was going to middle school and I lost my passion to write for a while. The second part went slowly and when I did work on it, I just sat there and improved what was already there because I thought it was stupid. To be fair though, most of that was written when I was 12. The part 2 was 30 pages long when I stopped writing it and started playing around with other ideas, which I didn't finish.
Now I'm 15 and getting back into writing again. I have a manuscript of a story that is really interesting and I broke the 10.000 words mark today. I really hope I find the patience to finish this one, because I have some other ideas I really want to write something about.

Anyway, I know I posted this like 2 years late, but I just wanted to post something, so yeah.
Also I'm dutch so i'm sorry if my English isn't the best.

When it comes to research, library is safer than the internet, because the information in a published book has been checked. (Most likely) While on the internet, anyone can write anything. Internet is full of information, but you pretty much have to verify it before you believe it.

I've been writing since I was 5... They were always dumb short stories, but I've been writing since I was 5.

-My main problem is that I have no one to help me edit and improve my writing. My friends aren't quite as into writing as I am, and they don't really understand how to edit. I've been trying to find someone around my age to help me, but I haven't found anyone yet. in addition, I'd really like to edit for someone else around my age to help me see what's wrong with my writing, but again, I haven't found anyone.
Is there anyone who's close to 14 that would like to do some writing exchange?

so i need to quit watching youtube for like five or six hours straight then? its gonna be hard. at least i going to play videogames more instead of watching videos. i dont have the free time to play games because i constantly read books and write for an hour or so and i read my work before rewriting it so i dont have the time to play games anymore and its sad. although the real problem is probably my addiction to youtube. thanks for the tips and yeah, i read like every day so thats a plus and i also write everyday and if its not my project i just do fanfiction that i never would publish...
