20 Dumb & SECRET Things You Missed In Resident Evil 8: Village

I said it in a separate video but I find it amusing how Mother Miranda specifically chose to read Village of Shadows to Rose knowing full well that it drew parallels to her own 4 lords... yet she hilariously ignored the last page of the book that literally foretold her own demise at the hands of Ethan

The easter egg you most likely missed. After Lady Dumitrescu cuts Ethan's hand off, the cut-off hand can be examined in inventory. And if you look closely, there is mold in the cut off part of Ethan's arm.

Like the idea that Chris has punched so many boulders it has become common/public knowledge.

Theory: when rose is talking to the body guard and he says she's like her father, she says "I know" with certainty. In RE7 there's a scene where Ethan talks to Jack Baker while he's unconscious, not to mention he also talks with Evelyn again before the end of RE8. One more detail, when Ethan inserts the canister containing Rose's head into the pedestal he has a flash of a memory through her eyes. I think this is all foreshadowing that the people infected with Mold have a collective consciousness and that Rose is able to speak with him in her head. We may just being seeing a physical representation of his essence at the end of RE8 but he may still be actually gone. However, it's possible that if we play Rose in RE9 and it's first person again, we may "hear" Ethan in her head while we're playing the game.

The Duke is the only character that doesn’t freeze during the inventory screen.

Hell, he’s the only thing that moves while the environment is frozen in time.

Ethan being the guy at the end of the credits walking up to the car might just be a re-used model all things considered, but it's pretty cool they went through the effort of modelling a face for Ethan despite never showing it

The fact that Mother Miranda is basically the "mother" of Umbrella.

The Duke was actually a lord from a different land and he even has an own house crest that has an owl on it, which can be seen by his wagon. If you think about that and how he easily gets around, one might assume he has transmogrification abilities.

Another forshadowing about Ethan is the health bar. If you look closely at it there is mold that moves across the bar.

The greatest reference to RE4 Merchant that everyone missed is the very store layout when you talk to the duke.

The most memorable thing about the merchant was that he constantly called Leon "Stranger" in every single phrase. "Welcome Back Stranger!" "Stranger, Stranger!".


But if you look at the title of the Duke's Emporium is written:

"No one's a stranger to the emporium"

Which to me was amazing.
