For everyone unable to sit and listen to the full thing, Biles was asked about the atmosphere for everyone (given so many athletes fell which is unusual).
She didn't say that because of it she didn't get a medal. She was just answering the question to explain the strange atmosphere in the final.

For anyone who watched the whole press conference, she absolutely did NOT say she missed the medal because of the atmosphere, she didn't even ALLUDE to that.

If you watched the beam final she’s talking about, most of the athletes fell or underperformed, not just her. The commentators said, “there must be something in the air.” She’s not making excuses for her performance (why would she need to?), she’s addressing the fact that it seemed to be an off night for EVERYONE.

Yet another headline to make a black woman look bad. She panted a picture of the atmosphere which deviated largely from usual competitions. She did not blame anyone or anything for missing a medal. And if anyone paid attention, all of the favorites had falls/downgrades so clearly it wasn't just Simone. I'm sure she commented on that to account for the overall poor performances of typically consistent athletes.

Every final I've ever watched in many years of watching gymnastics is quiet . They are used to it! And it's a known reason why there are often more falls in finals . When all eyes are just on that 1 gymnast, it adds to the pressure . That's what makes the finals so exhilarating, to see who CAN handle the pressure !
Let's talk about the 3 girls who DID NOT fall ! Clearly they were in the same atmosphere .They are just mentally tougher to focus on their routine and not let any atmosphere affect them .
She should not have been even critiquing anything other than her own poor performance. She simply can't handle not winning, which is why she got the twisties last time
