Obviously Vance never heard, or at least understood, her explanation for leaving the team. It was a recognized problem where the gymnast has a sort of mind/body disconnect that leaves them unable to judge their movements in the air. It would be incredibly dangerous to try to push through it. Why would she want to risk her life to perform poorly? She and the team were much better off acknowledging the problem and doing what made sense.

Ewer Shady Vance is so misogynist, add that comment to all that has been reveled in the last week. Simone protected her entire team, if she had flubbed it would have affected the others. Gymnastics isn't only about an individual performance but also a team performance.

Simone Biles clearly did the right thing to step out of the Tokyo Olympics if her mental state wasn't up to doing those very dangerous moves. She has proven that she is as strong as ever. Go Simon!
