Excellent explanation! One more add on - the 50% spouse gets that if they waited till their full retirement age, even if the other spouse doesn’t wait till their full retirement age. That surprised me.

67! That’s Crazy!!! You’ll be spending all your retirement money on assisted living care!

Do we still need to wait until we're 62 if husband has already passed away? (2020) He started WORKING in the 1940's. I could really use it at age 60. Thank you. I will be going to the SS office soon. I just can't stand sitting in a crowded waiting room😂

You have saved me so much money with the wonderful information you provide on your channel. 😅

The 30% initial reduction would be the only reduction of the spousal benefit with this situation

My husband died and his benefit is significantly higher than mine will be. His bday is 2 years before mine. What can you tell me? Do I need to wait until I’m 62?

However, my spouse had already been getting SS due to retirement, then later (after I retired) I started getting it at 62. My SS is way more than my spouse, but he couldn’t draw “from me” as we were told, something about “being 2 federal government retirees”….i cannot remember well the explanation…..maybe you can shed some light?

Is this the same as an ex-spouse? And if we aren't in communication anymore, how will I know if he is taking it or not? (Plus, he was 1.5 years younger than me)

I have divorced my spouse after 15 years of marriage. Do I still entitled to claim spouse SS at 67 if I did not claim mine until 67? I am now 63. 🙏

Due to a disability I have been on SSDI. This is a permanent situation.
I’m going to assume I’m already receiving the maximum that I could possibly receive. Right?

How does this apply with SSDI. Not 67 yet thinking about doing same as video??

Does the 70% apply to your own benefit IF you got SSDI when you were 36?
I get to draw on my Ex spouse, but SS said I will get the 50% benefit if I am at My full retirement age of 67.i will be 64 in August. SS agent said I would only get 30% if I decide to draw on him before that. So, they are lying to me? It's only about 40.00 more than mine if I draw now, at 30%
