Paul says you can’t work your way up to heaven it’s Gods free gift through grace for his glory, James says if you’re really about it then it will be evident by your works 👍

They both compliment each other very well IMO

I am justified by the work of Jesus Christ because he didn’t do the work for himself. He did it for me in my behalf. It’s a gift. It is his Grace thank you Lord ! My religious work is irrelevant. It is never enough to pay for my sins.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Faith is manifested through works, it has to become real, give fruit!

Well if Paul says, if you live by the Law you have fallen from Grace, mean while James says For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. are they contradicting each other, well if you rightly divide the word of truth you will come to the conclusion that James is addressing the Jews and, Paul is addressing the Gentiles.

Yes they compliment each other because the works that justifues faith, Jesus did for salvation, that faith alone is based on, His works not ours ... but after salvation to obey in the life of a believer we work in that faith

When we are justified by faith, then Christ can sanctify us by the Holy Spirit working in us, for it is not us that live but Christ that lives in us, so therefore the works are now a by product of our faith and they are not our works, but the works of the Holy Spirit working through us.

Saved by faith, by God. Secure your salvation by proving through Action.

Who is Paul talking to? He's talking to the Romans who were formally jews. They were followimg their old ceremonial laws. He's not saying "law" referring to the moral law which we must still follow the 10 commandments.

When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

If there is no EVIDENCE that you believe something, do you really believe it?
You don't truly believe a thing unless it motivates you to action.

Justified can also mean legitimacy. James speaks of a sanctified, serving faith.

Yes! Matthew 7:16 says Ye shall know them by their fruits. So if you have the fruit of salvation, the fruit of God in you, then it will be evident to others by the way you live. But if not then it will be evident also. Our works don’t get us to heaven, they guide others to heaven. The way Jesus is showed in our lives to others has an impact on whether or not they experience Jesus by the way we live.

Faith is absolute; “works” are relative. I sit on the board of a charity. I feel I do good “works”. On the other hand my atheist neighbour has foster cared many children and adopted 5 without compensation. Maybe I should up my game? Works are sometimes a gaming mechanism for the evil doer. They think they can game the creator, but they are self gaming.
