Well after spending a few months with the CRF300L and talking about how great it is, it's finally time to share some things that aren't so good about this little red dual sport. Don't get me wrong I still love the bike but everything has their pros and cons, in today's video we focus on the negative and go over the top 5 things I HATE about the 300L.

From the ergonomics, to the frame design, you may be surprised as to what rubs me wrong with this motorcycle but I think most of you riders will agree with my points. Feel free to leave a comment down below and let me know if I am missing anything!

The CRF 300L seems like an extremely good platform to grow with if you're a beginner. Rather than paying for features you won't be taking advantage of out of the box, you can upgrade it as you upgrade your riding ability.

This happens when you wanted to buy an agressive moto cross bike but mum said "no".
The CRF300L is a dual sports bike, so if you are looking for a KTM EXC, you should buy one. Don't blame the bike for choosing the wrong one.

Here's what I've learned from many of the youtube motorcycle review channels that I've ever seen. 1) You must by the latest model motorcycle. 2) You must discover that it has underlying flaws. 3) You must cure those flaws on you brand new motorcycle by purchasing at least $1.000.00 worth of replacement parts. (for your brand new motorcycle) 4) Those replacement parts that you spent so much money on will TOTALLY transform your brand new motorcycle. And that's because modern motorcycle designers are either stupid or unable to overcome government regulations, and you are well justified in spending all that money on brand-new aftermarket doo-dads to replace those brand-new factory installed doo-dads that were so useless. (this is the very reason I stopped buying motorcycle magazines 16 years ago) And here's what I learned from my real-life experience: take your custom, performance-enhanced bike to your favorite track or riding grounds and inevitably you will be SMOKED by someone who spent their time learning to actually ride hard and fast. And they'll do it with a bike that is nowhere near as "special" as yours. There are better ways to waste your money. Nevertheless, I do appreciate the fact that we still have a choice.

I love seeing machines pushed to the limit, so it's cool seeing a skilled rider mob around on a budget friendly bike.

I'm looking for a reliable (not too powerful) dual sport to explore back roads and downtown Fort Worth, TX. I'm 50 years old, 6'1", 200lbs, and good health. This bike looks quite attractive. Thanks for the video!!

I appreciate you making this video. I feel like your opinions are very applicable to what I’m trying to learn about these bikes. Thanks!

Great video, it’s always nice to hear an honest opinion. I’ve got my eye on one of these as it seems like a great package for what it’s meant for.

Hey man, been watching you for a while. So I bought a 26$ tail kit off of Amazon and made it fit. I did a top 10mods video for all the stuff I put on. I agree with you on the rear swingarm, I had a hard time fitting my michelin ac10. For suspension you and me both.

Tanner I appreciate your honesty about the bikes. I am currently waiting for a CRF 300 Rally to arrive the end of September. I am not an aggressive rider so I think this bike is going to work great for me. Thanks for sharing and tell Alexa that I am impressed with her riding ability. She has come a long way since she owned the CRF230L. PS to the point about my riding I own a CRF230L and it has been a good bike for me. I just need a little more speed on the Highway.

After lots of consideration I ended up going with a KLX300. Thanks for affirming lol. Suspension, frame, gearing, and other minor gripes tipped the scale for me, for my uses at least (ADV and single track). A downside of KLX300 is the availability of aftermarket parts. Yes it is mostly similar to the KX250 but things like a larger tank aren't possible yet. Only a 2.7 gallon tank is available, .7 increase for a few hundred. It seems like generally companies are quick to make AM parts for Hondas, probably a bigger market.

I ordered a 300 rally should be here in the next week or 2 so I'm interested in seeing the modifications you choose and find out what will work for me. Definitely doing something with suspension cockpit and seat.

How would you compare it to the 250L (stock form) ?
Been looking at used 250L's for ok prices, however a new 300L financed would appear as formidable option.

got just over 10, 000 Km on my KTM 390 Adventure and just under 10, 000 om my DR650 still waiting for my CRF3000L getting a 2022 as they could not get me a 2021, but now they do have one but being 2022 I will wait for the 2022, I will be going with the Dunlop D606 rear and the Pirelli M21 front. also hand guards, bash plate and rear rack so I can carry extra gas the gas tank is way to small, my main gripe about the CRF300 L I did put 20 liter gas tank on my DR650 made the world of difference, as I can ride all morning and not worry about gas. The CRF 300 L will be 90 % off road only road it will see is to and from the trails or dirt roads. thanks for the great video.

I agree with everything you mentioned and thought about selling it before I racked up miles. But after some tweaking and new tires/ front sprocket, adjusting rear preload, higher bars and gutting the muffler, I'm glad i stuck with it..btw the trackmaster 110/100/18 was a perfect fit. A smart man once said
"it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow", that really stuck with me! Thanks for all the vids bro!

I don't like the allen bolts either, but they do make sense for offroading, Ive rubbed some bolts flat to where I couldn't get a wrench on it . like rounded one side sliding it down a rock hill. I imagine the allen slot would have held up better in that scenario
