Elden Ring: Most Powerful Summon (Early Game) Rotten Stray against Tree Sentinel with Golden Halberd

Get the most powerful summon in early game for Elden Ring. Use the summon to defeat Tree Sentinel (first mini-boss in game). Video shows how to navigate portals to easily go to special locations to get the Rotten Stray Ashes, which allows you to summon a Rotten Stray that can slowly but surely do damage to any enemies bitten by it. Elden Ring locations shown in video include Limgrave, Dragon-Burnt Ruins, and Swamp of Aeon. Graces discovered: Sellia Crystal Tunnel and Sellia Under-Stair. Video then shows how to equip the ashes and how to summon it to fight against the Tree Sentinel (near The First Step Grace). You will see Tree Sentinel slowly losing health without you fighting him (in a safe location that can't be attacked) and then getting his Golden Halberd when he dies. Just clarify this here, the Rotten Stray doesn't poison enemies; he's inflicting Scarlet Rot, a different kind of damage. Great video for showing where to go pick this up, thank you.

I killed margit so easily because of this summon. I found it exploring on my first play through and I tested it on margit and I’m pretty sure the rot did like 90% of the work.

One thing E. Show the map locations about what you pick up. Like the rotties. I've seen others who actually show a red X on the map. Not sure how they do that but it's super helpful.

Slightly unrelated, but if it is not already common knowledge, the minners in the cave are massively weak to blunt damage.

Wow. Simple is good, when you're starting out here. It makes you think that maybe if I'm smart and not too good at the combat controls, yet, that I can do something. Thanks for great, detailed clip. Not sure if you can dual wield the halberd. I already got one from another 'Cheese Tree Sentinel' clip, the one where you get him to destroy the church and you stand on the wall and use your bow. Musta taken like 50 'made' arrows. Pretty sure that at SOME point, you're gonna have to learn to fight to do well in Elden Ring, but unTIL then, it's still a lot of fun.

Great tip! I found the Rotten Stray while just exploring, but it seemed weak when I used it, so I just went back to using other summons. I didn't know he inflicted poison damage, that's really great. Now I'm off to kill the Tree Sentinel and get the Golden Halberd. :)

Camping on the ruined building doesn't work anymore, i am on Xbox one and Elden ring 1.1.0 (1.10 patch?) it respawns the sentinel erasing the rot, so i tried again and got him rotten again and rode around and around keeping my distance and shooting an arrow here and there at him and jumping when he charged me and if he did hit me i rolled out of the fall then summon torrent and heal and go back to keeping my distance until sentinel dies from the rot.

Good informative video though, i did find the rotten stray exactly where you shown it. Did all of this on pretty much a fresh low level Samurai!

I have my Rotten Stray ashes currently with me. Sure I also have the Rot Breath incantation from the cathedral of the dragon communion but it's still a good summon if I dont have the Rot Breath set as my current spell and have the weapon given to you be the beast clergyman if you start to help him get death roots from the Death Mariners.

You can jump onto that stone building that is right there and he can't hit you. I cheesed him by spamming magic at him while standing on that platform.

TQ for this..probably wont work for all bosses, but if it works, makes my job way easier as melee with low armor.

i often recommend upgrading the rotten stray before going off to your nearest boss
