Building The 'Ultimate' PSP-1000

Today I’ll be repairing and constructing the ultimate Sony PSP-1000. With an SD card adapter, some soft modding and emulation this console can play thousands of great classic games.

This was a hard project from me personally with many set backs, but I sincerely hope you enjoy it.

After replacing my old 1000 shell with an aftermarket one, I got the analog drifting so bad. I fixed it by placing a little strip of foam between the shell and the stick housing, so that it was firmly pushed to the motherboard. No drift after that, I'm so happy!

"Ultimate"... Which is just a Clear Case. Also you broke the UMD-Drive and the Audio. So it's kinda worse than before.

Aww you missed your chance to install an IPS screen into your 1000. It makes a world of difference, especially since the 1000 screen had so much blurring.

Great video, I've personally never taken apart a psp before, but I've had my fair share of troubles when restoring 3ds/ds lites and I feel your pain. Best of luck to you on your next build.

I brought mine back to life to purchase a new battery and body for it. Put many many games on it already that took me down 90s nostalgia lane! It's awesome for those PS1 titles That I'll always go back and play.

I didn't know that it's common to have mismatch. I bought a PSP 1000 for $8 at a swapmeet 6 years ago. All I had to do was to replace the battery and the broken audio jack with a new audio/wifi/memory stick board and I couldn't understand why I had to put a plug to get the sound out from the speakers. This explains it!

I recently modded a GBA with the full package, it was easy compared to this. I've been wanting to mod my PSP 1000 but man, this is a lot of parts, it's going to take a few views of this video before I'm confident enough to do a shell swap, I can't believe how many layers there are in this little thing. Now I want to see if the thinner PSPs are easier or harder to take apart.

OH MY GOD, soo cool, I did the same mod years ago and my finished product was also a mismatched board set and I also need to put the headset plug in to get sound!! How funny to find someone else who got the same idea and got the same result! Keep it up, Nice videos man! This a subbed channel now
