This is amazing. I've played guitar for around 15 years and recently fallen in love with math rock. I'm mostly totally self-taught and know almosy no music theory, but this video is so helpful.
Thank you so much :)

As someone who is very new to guitar, but has been playing the drums for 15 years (and teaching for about 6) I absolutely love these exercises.
But one thing that really helped me to get a better understanding of time signatures is grouping the notes into counts again. Because 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 can be very hard to keep track of while playing, I usually see them as three dotted quarter notes consisting 3 eighth notes, so count them as 1-and-ah-2-and-ah-3-and-ah, stressing the 1, 2, and 3. This might be a bit easier to get a grip on.
For 7/8 it can be, two quarter notes and a dotted quarter note, like 1-and-2-and-3-and-ah, or any other subdivision possible of 7/8.

The biggest problem I have is finding the songs to play. I have a math rock playlist but basically all of the songs either don't have tabs online or are just too hard. Is there maybe any list of songs to play?

Excelent lesson, may I ask what is the string-action of your guitar?

super interesting; I was classicaly trained and the way I'd manage these arpeggios was to play the upper two notes with my thumb and the rest with i-m-a... the pinky was a no-go, but honestly, I don't really see a reason to _not_ give it a try this way, more capable fingers = more better ^^
_(have to grow out my pinky nail too now tho lmao)_

Did you get a new camera? You're looking extra crispy, in a good way.
