There so many people waiting for him in espide IX but I really think we won't see him again. This scene was here to just show us that there will be always force-sensitive people and that not every hero needs to have a hero-parents, just like Rey.

This would have been the perfect ending for a trilogy. In fact, a LOT of stuff that happened in TLJ shoud have been saved for the last chapter.

the broom came to his hand he didn't grab it

And Abrams just retconed this scene, sending the opposite message that you do have to be a relative of a famous Jedi to use the force. What a mess.

0:25 i love how the light flashes on through the stick of the broom to make him look like he's activating his lightsaber

My favorite part about this ending is that the boy using the Force is such a minor thing. He uses it to get a broom, that's it. He doesn't realize how special it is, not yet. But one day, he might, and he may become something great. And he is likely one of hundreds or even thousands out there in the galaxy, who don't realize the potential within them. But one day they might, and what better way to end than with a message of hope for the future? The Jedi aren't dead, they can learn from their mistakes, and they don't have to be only Skywalkers.

I never noticed how he pulled the broom towards him with the force.

I feel like this would be more fitting at the end of the next movie

I think this is a really powerful and beautiful scene.
1) throwback to Anakins slave boy beginnings
2) the scene prior to this shows how big of an influence Lukes last stand was across the galaxy
3) Roses resistance ring. there will *always* be someone willing to fight. the rebellion is never dead
4) even low born nobodies who are nothing special have the potential to become something *amazing*
5) there are force sensitive people all across the universe. the force has never just been contained to a few famous people
6) the potential for a new Jedi force is just waiting to be discovered. the Jedi will never really be gone so long as the force exists
This honestly would've been a much better way to wrap up the series.

The ending feels like the whole story was made up by that broom boy and his friends

Not everyone can become a great Jedi. But a great Jedi can come from anywhere.

The scene immediately prior to this shows that while Luke may be dead, like Obi-Wan before him he became even more powerful, passing into legend with a reach that extends throughout the galaxy and can never be quashed.
