Rosemary Sutcliff is a great author in my opinion. I love “Eagle of the Ninth” which is part of her British-Romano series (when Rome ruled Britain). Soon will be reading the other books of that series.

I have loved this idea of life softening reads. I am reading The Little White Horse by Goudge and loving it! I agree with her scenic, lovely writing. If you haven’t read this one, I think you’ll enjoy the children’s fantasy tale. Thank you for doing these…so many I want to read. Thank you, Kate! 💖

I can’t wait to get to that Goudge trilogy—I’ve still only read Island Magic, which was a reading highlight from 2023, so I’m eager to get to more Goudge! Really excited we’re doing one in May for your Patreon read!! She has a really distinct style—lush, like you said.
