don't be scared about jane eyre!!! charlotte bronte's writing is super accessible, especially in comparison to other victorian classics!

You should really get to Jane Austen too. I just started reading her books this year and they are so much fun.
She was always the author whose works I knew deep down that I would really like, but for some reason I never got to reading them. Definitely worth a try, plus classics by women is a whole other world.

Jane Eyre is one of my favorite book ever, it has a really interesting story behind the characters and it’s super easy to read, feels like you’re only reading a 100 page novel

I love Jane Eyre! Even though it is a Victorian novel, it felt a bit young adultish to me. I'm planning to reread it this autumn as well.

like legit the perfect book for 2020 when you're feeling down about all the progress (and lack of progress) in the world
and ahhh the man's search for meaning is so great too, i had to read it for a philosophy class and it was an amazing read

Jane Eyre is one of the first books I picked up after years of not really doing any reading just for leisure and it was surprisingly easy to get through and it actually really rekindled my love for reading! And I'm saying this as a fellow dutch person, with your proficiency in english it really shouldn't be a problem to get through in my experience. It's one of my favourite books now so I definitely recommend!
