Dina please give the meds at least 30 days to settle in and help regulate in your body. Also, try to take each tablet at the same time each day. It really helps with the effectiveness of the medication. You can do this!!!

It’s not a placebo girl!!!! I have been on meds for 6 months and it was literally life changing 30 minutes after trying it. It’s truly amazing!!! I hope you can keep up long term and you’ll see the focus come in and the distractions fade away. Bloody amazing 🤩

Hey Dina! Be easy on yourself! Give it 2 weeks for the medication to kick in, don’t analyse each day too much and just go with the flow!
Good luck :)

You have to get used to it. It basically quiets the noise, the strong impulses and visual distractions. It helps you figure out how to live with ADHD so focus on the marathon and not the sprint. You’ve got this!

Also, yes, adhd medication is also amazing for binge eating disorder!!! I had that too and drastically reduced. It’s not a “cure” but it’s one of the best medications for bingeing (which is dopamine hit for us adhders”

I know many people on ADHD medication take melatonin at night because of the impact on sleep. Love you so much and appreciate you sharing such a personal journey. You are amazing, do whatever is best for you x

Thanks for sharing Dina 💛 Your self awareness is so great. Recognising our own problematic behaviour is the first step and so helpful, especially in a marriage. Implementing the changes is of course a little more challenging 😉Wishing you and Sid all the best with your therapy journey.

While I am not in the same boat as you, my understanding is that meds take time to regulate in your body and an assessment over time is probably more effective. Your scepticism is understandable and I was happy to see by day 7 you were embracing it more.

Sending healing vibes x

***Binge Eating*** It's been a year since I've been diagnosed & medicated and it's been one of the absolute best years health-wise(mental aand physical). Everything you've expressed about binge eating and your experience with adhd resonates soooo strongly! Up until a year ago, eating felt like the equivalent of getting on a bike with no breaks, & all of a sudden you're full speed ahead, thrilled, until you inevitably crash... but now, the metaphorical bike has breaks and little side mirrors too lol.

Dina, please don’t take it on/off! With meds like these, consistency and regularity is so so important for the meds to work. Your body needs to get used to it. Sometimes you won’t even see the effects until after taking it for a few weeks/months but please persist. A few days is simply not enough to judge the effects of these medications. Sometimes taking it on/off might even make your symptoms work, especially missing doses here and there.

I think the best thing would to take it regularly, 3 times a day, same time every day for at least 3 months and at the end, then judge how you feel/the effects.

Thank you for sharing your first week experience with ADHD medication. It's definitely helping. Seeing how focused you are and not manic and scattered is lovely. You'll figure out the best times during the day to take the medication and still have good nights rest 👍

What a pleasant improvement, speaking much more calmer and slower and clearer, no shouting and just generally more pleasant. Yay for the medication! 😊

Dinaa, i notice like after medicaton your speech is so calm, your thoughts are complete, you do not shout like you usually do (sometimes it does annoy, sorry). You look healthier emotionally

4 mins of this video and it makes me feel that I’m on the right path! Looking at ADHD diagnosis for myself as I have similar issues. Be interesting to see how you get on with the meds! Especially happy about the binge eating and sugar cravings. I’m realising it’s also part of adhd! I also don’t like going back to places after a few weeks of not being able to keep up and end up leaving things but slowly changing that. Thanks for sharing Dina xx

Hi Dina if you don’t mind - could you please share what kind of therapy you and Sid are doing? Eg couples therapy, family therapy or for your adhd?
Sorry if that’s an intrusive question

So happy that this may be something that helps you feel better. It's great that you're using this experience to document the process not only for yourself, but also to help others start the conversion if they're experiencing similar symptoms. x

As a therapist that has worked with psychiatric providers in the past, I absolutely saw the increased focus but 3x a day is a lot for a medication. Best of luck on your journey.

Hey Dina, I also take adhd meds and have been for over a year now. I know it's temping to be in control of the med taking times and have it when you think is best but I found it a lot better when I take mine when it's recommended. By the way I didn't see proper results until 1 month of consistently taking them on time. Glad your documenting your journey. Hope everything works our for your benefit and your familes inshallah. 🥰

You might be a bit sensitive so don't take any meds later than 1 or 2pm unless you know you're going to have a really long day. It takes a almost a full week for your body to get used to the changes from the meds, and when you take it everyday its like you said @9:06 it still in your system a bit the next day. Remember to drink lots of water! Great video!

I am so very glad you filmed this. I've been going round and round on whether to take or not. Thank you very much! It helped immensely.
