I need to run the night eating portion of this video on an endless loop. My weakest moments are at night. Too important to “forget “.

My blood sugar doesn't go up with artificial sweetener, and it helps me not cheat. I've had a CGM for almost 3 months

Eating after dinner not just late night is my down fall. Dinner is done by 5:30 but some time I have home dried apples as a goodie.

I have been walking seriously for three years. This year, I gave up alcohol over 90 days ago and tightened up my diet. Imagine my surprise to find my A1c actually increased. My doctor has no clue, so thank you for explaining why it would go up.

I had a glucose raise of 20 points after taking a "sugar free" B12 supplement. Label says "sugar free" fine print says Monk sweetener. Guess my body doesn't like it. It took 2 hours to go back down! I also had it happen on natural strawberry flavor magnesium drops! No mention of any sugar or sweetener on the box or label.

This video is very helpful to me. Thank you Doc. I started snacking late night 3 weeks ago with almonds or macadamia, peanuts and was wondering why my blg is high when I check in the morning. Thanks😊 this video is the answer.

Spanish people eat often and a lot after 9:30 pm. There is no observable difference to other countries regarding obesity, CVD etc. In some way, they are even healthier than others. Do we have a Spanish paradox here?

So some of us work nights, Doc. Everything we eat is after dark. What are our options?

My hubby is type 2 & when we drive to GA to visit our daughter the bubblegum comes out. I told him it raises his sugar but since I’m not a dr he doesn’t care.

What about people like me that need to gain weight? I was advised to eat healthy snacks along with well-balanced, low carb healthy meals. I tried Keto for 4 weeks, I lost 3 lbs. Weight loss is not what I was going for. Trying to heal some nerve pain. I'm in a no win situation!!

I’d love to own a CGM but here unless a TD1 it’s very expensive.

Hmmm, this gives me an interesting idea to try. My issue is low blood sugar, not high. When I went carnivore last year I cut out all sweet things completely, and had already been sugar free for over 13 years. But maybe I'll try adding in a little bit of stevia here and there and see if it helps get my blood sugar back up in a better range overall. I never eat at night as it wrecks my sleep. So that one has never been a temptation and I sure don't want to start having to do it. But I did start forcing myself to have little snacks between meals to try and get things more balanced. It helped, but also is part of what's making me gain weight.

A fair number of studies done around taste. Taste is the brain trigger to prime the body. We have lots of sensors.

The time on the CGM (thank you!) was very educational. There are times it would change and I couldn't really explain it. I liked trying different things to see the effect.. I went to get a malt and the wife said "your having a malt??". "Yes..I'm doing research here so let it be!". The true spikes (and no surprise) is any sweetened drink. Just BAM it's going up. I suppose that is worse than something that slowly makes it go up..like ice cream?
