What would Pennywise appear as to you? What do you fear?

The Moment you realize WHY IT became quiet, when they started laughing, he sensed that Georgie's fear started to diminish, because Georgie started the get comfortable with all the laughing etc etc, so IT just became Dead silence and put Georgie in a confusing state, to bring that fear out again,

The section between 2:50 to 2:58 freaks me out to my bones; chills. The shift from giggles to a soulless, haunting look of almost nothingness but outright fear and menacing feel, in my opinion, one of the best parts of this scene. Just the stillness of the so so good.

I think what makes Bill's performance so effective is that he's not portraying a clown, he's portraying something that's TRYING to be a clown. That's the clear difference between him and Tim Curry's version. Tim played a basic clown and it was really great, but Bill found a way to show the entity of IT from within the form of Pennywise and it's impressive that he was able to do that. Both versions of the character were well done. I sincerely hope we get to see more of Pennywise in the sequel.

When Pennywise is laughing with Georgie and then just suddenly stops and stares straight at him it's the scariest thing I've seen in a long time

The performance here is INCREDIBLE. In fact this is one of the greatest horror movie moments of the 2010's. This will be a classic within the next 10 years and our kids will talk about it.

Honestly this was scary...pennywise came off very affectionate sometimes, like someone you'd really like which is what i think is the main gold in the character because for him to be able to attract kids he has to be very charming and likeable plus it makes the character more menacing when he turns on his evil side again. They absolutely nailed it.

This scene is just so amazing, Bill Skarsgard was really the best person for this role. At first Pennywise seems genuinely friendly and goofy, in a creepy way, but its easy to see that Pennywise is just looking at Georgie with hunger.

The part from 2:50 to 2:58 sent chills down my spine the way he went from hysterical giggling to an empty haunting stare

The best part of Pennywise's lazy eye is that one of the two eyes is always focused on _us, _ the audience, which really adds subliminally to our discomfort of the character.

When he goes blank faced is when everybody in the theatre felt unsafe lol

That death stare he gave him and that creepy music was just on point. Give me chills.

I love how he stares at 2:52 and drools with his eyes going in different directions. The 2017 Pennywise is so off somehow. They included so many details that just make him seem otherworldly. I love Tim Curry´s performance but that´s why I prefer Bill´s Pennywise.

"popcorn! is that your favorite? mine too!"
i think stephen king portrayed the psychology of kiddie-snatchers frightingly well with this. levelling with the kid, building trust over "same things we like" up to the owning a thing that the kid might want instantly, offering it to the kid.
horrible.

2:50 The SCARIEST part of the entire movie for me is at 2:50 when he goes all quiet and reserved. It is just the most uneasy feeling I got in the theater, one of the only times he's not acting all crazy and whacky, but instead just muted and reserved. Gives me serious chills.

The shift at 2:50 tho! Skarsgard killed it

2:40 and the most iconic laugh in horror history was made

One thing I had noticed was at the 3:05 mark or so when Georgie says he should get going but then Pennywise stops him by asking “Without your boat?” and he follows that with “You don’t wanna lose it Georgie... Bills gonna kill you.” There was something about how the eerie music chimed in with the way Pennywise said it. It sounded like this convincing and persuasive tone that made it so compelling and frightening. The acting for that scene is just so incredible it’s really an impressive performance.
