A 3-year-old girl was left paralyzed after she was bitten by a tick. Amanda and Lantz Lewis say their daughter, Evelyn, had symptoms that came on suddenly with very little sign of the crisis to come. "Around bedtime she was acting cranky," the mother recalled to Inside Edition. When Evelyn woke up the next morning, she couldn't use her legs. Her arms also hung uselessly at her side. They rushed her to the emergency room where a doctor discovered a tick burrowed into her scalp. #InsideEdition

We found one on our dog the other day... luckily he was ok.

Last summer around this time i found a red rash on my side, and my dad took me to the hospital. They did a blood test and it turned out I had gotten lymes disease from an infected tick that had bitten me. I took medicine for about a month and luckily all my symptoms; lethargy, forgetfulness, and aching muscles, were gone. And I thought that was scary, but it proves to be almost nothing compared to what Evelyn went through. It's a good thing both of our cases were caught early on, they could both lead to some horrible fates. Stay safe my friends, always check for those little devils.

I’m so happy she made a full recovery, she is one lucky girl.
I had a tick above my eye when I was younger and became quite ill, unfortunately I was staying with my monster of a grandmother at the time. She refused to believe me that something was wrong and it was my teacher (stayed there for 6 weeks) who actually found it. I was rushed to the doctors by my Pop and they removed it. It was horrible, I still have a scar from it. I’m grateful we don’t have ticks in our neighbourhood.

Tic Tock in her locks, the little girls legs stopped. Tonite it's a bite, from a tick not a lice. Tick tock bugs wont stop and they can make you paralyzed, now (ohhh woah ohh ohh woah)....

I’ve been bitten by a tick before. I was getting my hair done and the hairdresser noticed it. Luckily it wasn’t a paralyzing tick, but it left a scar and quite a pain on my head. Glad Evelyn is okay!
