Stamped receivers are not commercial variant even though the factory code is not in a triangle. They were made for the military but in limited amount. I only saw one picture same as mine, a stamped with jungle on John Yooper SKS website in the receiver section.

Update: I now have two stamped receiver with jungle stocks and Type 63 bayonets (thanks Doug for that info).

Love your channel and the history you know about these rifles. I have a Romanian and a Yugo.

Very nice SKS! These are incredibly rare. I have a stamped Chinese SKS made in 1972 with the same 0138 factory marking as the rifle in this video and all matching numbers. It has a low 1972 serial number, it's in the 2000 range for that year.

Love the sks. Might be one of the best shtf rifel made. No matter what or who made it these work horses and made like a ruger gp100. Built to survive

I have the same 1970 jungle stock, just posted a video of it, but when I bought it it had a wooden upper hand guard. I’ve been looking for a bakalite hand guard. love it though very unique. Do you know how to clean the stock of scratches etc without damaging it?

Type 63 pattern bayonet with that taper.

My dad has an old Chinese SKS he bought while back in college in 1979 I believe. I've always been fascinated by it, but unfortunately the magazine does not attach to the mag well for whatever reason and he has no interest in getting it fixed and does not want it to be shot.

I think I'll take it down to a gunsmith when I next visit and get it all tuned up and cleaned and such.
