Today we take a look at the 4G LTE Network Extender from Verizon, manufactured by Askey. This is just a quick unbox and setup video. Stay tuned to future videos for a more in depth look into the WebGUI for the extender as well as data and voice performance and coverage. BTW, sorry for this one being in portrait. I had to re-shoot and didn't catch I did portrait until later.

I got the exact extender that you have for free but you have to mention to the customer service that you're in a gray area otherwise you're going to end up paying hundreds of dollars and that's the difference

Ordered one, just got server error 5A, no luck spent time with Verizon tech support no luck, just returned it, MAC address would not register. Useless for me.

Ok so we are on a boat 3 months a year. Trying to decide as to wether to get the Verizon 4G LTE Extender or a WeBoost. We only have our cell phone on board. I'm leaning towards the Extender since I'm thinking the best bet for a Verizon signal would be with a Verizon device? Also the WeBoost is about double the price. Power consumption is a concern as well but these devices look to be similar. The WeBoost might be more power since it has an amplifier to fuel. Thoughts?

Im wondering if this thing uses the router to broadcast the the signal because we just went through hurricane ian and i told them our internet was out and i needed the personal hotbspot and he sent me this for free. But now im thinking it usless and he wasn’t even listening to me.

Does this work with Verizon Home Internet? Will it improve my speed of the internet?

I just installed this and everything was setup and went from 1 bar (if that) to full bars with a speed test of 50mbps on lte. However when I’m on calls I still get intermittent dropped calls. WiFi calling is turned off and I enabled ports on router to make sure it was fully compatible. Any ideas why it’s still happening? I’m using iPhone 12 Pro. I checked the alarm history on the network extender and it states: sctp link failure and IPSec down occasionally. I really thought that using the lte network extender would solve all my dropped calls issue. Using WiFi calling prior to using the network extender was useless Bc I still needed good lte connection for WiFi calling to drop any calls.

Great video - Thanks. We're on Lopez Island in Washington State, and get virtually no cell tower coverage (zero bars, but enough of a data link for SMS data to get through, but no voice). We have fairly good second generation CenturyLink cable service for ISP services, so using a network extender is a must (BTW, you can setup WiFi calling in most cell phones, but it takes some work). Support for our old Samsung unit was discontinued, and after three calls to Verizon's second tier support, I found a very helpful tech who sent me one of these free. I had some questions about the setup, and this video covered all of them - again, thanks. This video is exactly what I needed. To me there are two negatives about the design of this unit, one of which was relieved by this video. It wasn't clear taking the unit out of the box, or looking t any of Verizon's instructions or videos whether or not you could safely stand it on edge. It does have vent holes on all four edges. Seeing it on edge here nudged me to try it, and it works just fine. The only other nit is that it should have a provision for wall mounting, and I'm a little too timid to go poking a hole in the case for fear of damaging something inside the package, so for now it's on the kitchen counter next to the multi-function entry box/router.

Trying to be helpful but skips the most crucial part- connecting to the modem. How do you do that without losing the internet and wifi for your home?..

Is there any benefit if you have WiFi calling enabled already in your phone?

It is 2022 now. Just got this same extender from Verizon to go with my Arris NVG468MQ router that I just got from Frontier, and the Frontier router settings are BLOCKING the calls from the extender...I need to make sure the appropriate ports are open.
I do not know how to do that...or to even know what the "appropriate ports" are...
Do you have any suggestions? Or a video of how to accomplish that?
It has been a month already since getting this new Frontier router, and I have not been able
to make a call on my cell phone from my house, since.
People cannot hear me.
It's some port that needs unblocking in the Router...
Thanks for your help...

My provider advised to purchase my own router so we can enable bridging with our ONT. We cannot enable DMZ on our equipment. Having your own router you can DMZ the LTE extender. Please be advised it must be a router only, a modem/router or any variation will not work. Can someone help me?

Do you have to have good internet for this to work well? Like, how would it do with 5-10 mb satellite internet?

I had mine set up and working great (5 bars), but then somebody unplugged it, and now it won't pair!

Hi, I just received this unit from Verizon today, and set it up without any issues. Within a few feet of the extender, I am getting -67 dBm, which is a huge improvement. However, when I walk away, the signal drops to -98 dBm almost instantly (within 15 feet). I opened the settings page online, and noticed that I only have a strong GPS signal to 2 satellites, versus the recommended 4.

Could this lack of strong satellite connection be impacting the range and signal strength of the extender? Or are GPS and range/signal strength two completely separate things?

It's worth noting I had no trouble with locating a GPS signal during setup, even though I only had a strong connection to 2 satellites. Thanks!

Does the antenna have to be permanently connected after installation is complete? Can I connect the extender to my new Orbi CBR750 Satilite?

Did they send this free of charge? Or did you buy it on their website?
